Happiness is....a nice, comfy bed

Let me tell you a story...

Once upon a time a nice sweet girl and a good looking kind boy met and they fell in love and they decided to get married (yay!). The nice girl...we'll call her...Anna...told her good looking boy....we'll call him Joe...that she didn't need a fancy diamond, a manufactured gemstone would do. Rather, she'd prefer they spent the money on a really nice bed. And so they did. And the girl slept on that bed for several months until they wed, and it, was bliss.

And then when moving across the country bandits attacked and stole their moving van with everything inside--including the blissful memory foam mattress that they had never spent the night upon together. And the girl cried and the boy held her and told her it would be alright. And they went to Walmart and bought an air mattress and rediscovered the joys of waking up sunken on an airmattress. And the girls back and neck hurt and it was not fun.

And then family and friends banded together and shipped supplies to the boy and girl, including a pillowtop mattress. It was not new, it did not have a boxspring, but it was so much better than the air mattress. And the boy and girl rejoiced.

And then less than a year later the boy and girl had to move again and found it was not cost effective to take the mattress with them so they sold it on craigslist and trekked back across the country to live in Grandma's house. And slept on one of her mattresses that had a boxspring and pillowtop and was very soft and good and life started to feel a little bit more normal sleeping on that mattress.

Then the boy and girl moved again, to a new, more permanent place. And they couldn't take the mattress. "What shall we do?" she said? And the boys parents offered them a spare mattress from their basement. And that kind gesture, provided a mattress. But it was old, had no pillowtop, had springs that stuck in their backs, and the boy and girl did not sleep well. And it was misery.

And then the owners of the mattress company where they had bought their original blissful mattress took pity on them and gave them a discount so they could repurchase that glorious glorious bed. And they did. And all seemed right in the world and the girl just knew that they would live happily every after.

By now you've discovered that this story is about me and my man and our mattress misery over the past 18 months. Joe repurchased our bed today and I could not be more happy about it. So if you notice an extra spring in my step, just know, that the reason is very likely that I am sleeping so much better on my lovely, new mattress.

That really is quite the story. I'm so happy for your new mattress situation! It's amazing how much a night on a good mattress can mean to the rest of your day.
