50 in 500: Buy a present for a child we don't know for Christmas

The great thing about having a running goal list like this is that opportunities arise and you seize them because you remember they are on your list. Like this one. On Sunday at church they had trees in the lobby with these cute little gingerbread on them and each one had an item on it someone needed for Christmas. The great thing was we could buy something anonymously, but at the same time would be helping people right in our area. I loved that.

The tree had already been relieved of many of it's ornaments so we grabbed a few stragglers--two little boys who wanted snow boots for Christmas.
Last night we went to Target and picked up 2 pairs (and learned a thing or two about kids show sizes in the process. A 13 can be smaller than a 3 in case you were wondering).

Today I found boxes that fit and wrapped those presents right up so we can take them back to church on Sunday. The boots were pretty pricey (we spent about as much on 2 pairs as we have budgeted for each of us for Christmas), but it seemed fitting for it to stretch ourselves in our Christmas giving this year. I hope we are always financially able to do something like this--it'll be fun to include Everly in the process as she gets older.
And that makes 9/50 of my 50 in 500 list completed.

Glad you were able to meet some goals this week; I do love being able to buy Christmas presents for kiddos I don't know as well. It totally brings the Christmas spirit to another level! Everly is so stinkin' cute. Seriously. She can come live with me if you ever get sick of her.
