Accepted and other news

We're over here working hard on making 2012 our best year yet...

In the last week:

  • Evie was accepted to a "Toddler Class" at the university, she'll go 2 days a week
  • I was accepted to the MPP program, I'll go more than 2 days a week, and I'll study while Evie goes to toddler class, naps, and sleeps at night
  • The director of the MPP program called me personally to convince me to come to their program, it was quite flattering and a needed ego boost
  • That is if we can ever get Evie to sleep, her sleep is still horrific. I'm considering seeing a sleep specialist, but skeptical they can suggest anything we haven't tried
  • I started a new diet and have lost 5 pounds in 5 days. I'm waiting to blog about it in detail until I've made it through the initial phase and maintained the weight loss for a certain amount of time.
  • Related to the last point I miss bread. Sigh.
And on the horizon:
  • 2.5 months until I'm done at my job. It'll be just about a week shy of 4 years at AidData.
  • Next month I'm hosting book club. There will be apple crisp. It will be awesome
  • I'm registering soon for an econ class this summer, wish me luck, econ is not intuitive for me
  • We're making progress on some big financial goals, too personal to share the details, but it is a big part of our life so I'm excited

Unfortunately I have still not made it through an entire ab workout at the gym.

I do, however, regularly survive killer kickboxing classes.

I still have a good 9.5 months, I WILL survive an entire ab workout...darn bicycle kicks, crunches, leg lifty/lowery craziness...and other insanity these instructors dream up. I do think I have abs under there somehwere...weak ones.

I always love reading your updates. Congrats on the fast 5 lb weight loss. Oh and I am convinced that Evie will be the most perfect adolescent/teenager you can dream up because she's been such a challenge as a baby. Go to sleep child!

Your posts make me smile!! Congratulations on the MPP program! That's awesome. I'm so excited to take a class this next semester. I really wish they offered master's degrees here. SIGH.
